- Social Media Accounts: When you connect your social media accounts (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook), we receive OAuth access tokens and basic profile information. We never ask for or store your social media passwords.
- Content Data: Posts, captions, images, videos, and scheduling information you create or upload
- Communication Data: Messages you send to our support team or feedback you provide
1.2 Automatically Collected Information
We automatically collect certain information when you use our platform:
- Usage Data: Pages visited, features used, time spent, and interaction patterns
- Device Information: IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers
- Cookies and Tracking: We use cookies and similar technologies to enhance your experience and analyze usage patterns
1.3 Information from Third Parties
When you connect third-party services (social media platforms), we receive:

1.4 Information Collected via Meta Graph API
To provide our content analytics and hashtag tracking features, our platform uses the Meta Graph API (specifically the Instagram Hashtag Search API). This allows us to collect publicly available information associated with specific hashtags. This data is collected from public Instagram posts and is not limited to accounts you have connected.
The public data we collect includes:
- Public media (photos and videos)
- The caption of the public media
- The media's type (image, video, carousel)
- The permalink to the media
- The timestamp of when the media was published
- The username of the public account that posted the media
- Counts of likes and comments on the media
Important: This data collection is limited to publicly available posts that users have already chosen to share publicly on Instagram. We do not access private accounts, direct messages, or any non-public information.

Important: Contena does NOT collect, store, or have access to your passwords. Authentication is handled securely through:
- Auth0: Your Contena account password is securely managed by Auth0, not stored in our database
- OAuth Tokens: Social media connections use OAuth access tokens, which can be revoked at any time without exposing your passwords
- Zero Password Storage: We never ask for or receive your Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, or Facebook passwords
While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, no internet transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as necessary to:
- Provide our services and fulfill the purposes described in this policy
- Comply with legal, regulatory, or contractual obligations
- Resolve disputes and enforce agreements
